2026 new year prayer

Heavenly Father,

As I stand at the threshold of 2026, I thank You for Your faithfulness that has carried me through another year. Your Word promises that "Your mercies are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23), and I claim that fresh mercy today for the days ahead.

Lord, I surrender my 2026 to You, my fears, my hopes, and my plans. I believe that You are already ahead of me in this new year. Help me to "trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding" (Proverbs 3:5). When the path is unclear, remind me that Your Word is a "lamp for my feet and a light on my path" (Psalm 119:105).

I pray for renewal in my spirit. "Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). Help me to leave behind the mistakes of the past and embrace the new thing You are doing. I hold onto Your promise in Isaiah 43:19: "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?".

Strengthen me for the challenges 2026 may bring. Remind me that I "can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). When I am weary, help me to wait on You, knowing that those who hope in the Lord "will renew their strength and soar on wings like eagles" (Isaiah 40:31).

I trust that You have "plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future" (Jeremiah 29:11). May Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard my heart and mind throughout 2026.
